DJA Culinary Crawl to Feature Downtown Restaurants
The Downtown Jonesboro Alliance (DJA) will host its inaugural Culinary Crawl on Nov. 30, in conjunction with Small Business Saturday.
DJA Executive Director Sarah Doss said the purpose of the event is to further DJA’s mission and assist in bringing people and revenue to downtown businesses.
“In lieu of recent events downtown with the closure of a portion of Main, it really lit a fire under us to get this event up and running and motivated us to make it the best event possible,” said Doss. “Our downtown businesses have really taken a hit due to the road closure, making it the perfect time to roll out this fundraising event. There are many measures of success for an event like this; however, personally I will feel like it has been a successful event if our businesses are busy and full and making enough money to feel a relief from recent events.”
Currently, Doss says a dozen downtown eateries have committed to participate in the DJA Culinary Crawl. They include Bamboo Japanese Cuisine, Skinny J’s, Ben Yay’s, Sugar Grits, Viet Kitchen Eataholic, Rice Box, The Parsonage, Lemonade House Grill, Scoops, The Rec Room, Brickhouse Grill and Bubblee Tea.
Tickets will be on sale on the DJA website beginning Nov. 1 for $48 per ticket.
“Each ticket will come with a voucher for an appetizer, entree, dessert and beverage,” said Doss. “Each voucher has several restaurant options listed, in hopes to get people into as many downtown restaurants as possible. This provides a great opportunity for people that don’t come downtown very often, as they can taste menu items from several of our restaurants in one evening. If anyone has been interested in trying something new, this is the event for you.”
