Alumni of the former Phi Mu chapter at Arkansas State University will host the 31st annual Phi Mu Fall Fashion Show at the Cooper Alumni Center at 11:30 a.m. All proceeds collected for the event will benefit Arkansas Children’s Hospital. Tickets are $30. Info: (870) 932-5125.

Saturday, August 3
United Way’s annual Stuff the Bus event will take place all day at seven Walmart locations in Northeast Arkansas. Stop by Walmart in Jonesboro, Paragould, Pocahontas, Trumann, Walnut Ridge, Wynne or Osceola to donate school supplies to more than 20 local school districts. Info: (870) 935-3658.

August 9-11

Thursday, August 15

Saturday, August 17
Hot Pepper Nights 5K and 10K, hosted by St. Bernards Development Foundation, will last from 6:30-9 p.m. at St. Bernards Health & Wellness. Race proceeds will be allocated to the St. Bernards professional education fund. Participants will receive a custom designed T-shirt and goody bag; there will also be a fiesta-style post-race party with live music, a nacho bar and beverages. Info: racesonline.com.

TheatrEdge will host the inaugural NEA Theatre & Dance Festival at Gamble Home Shop Local Park beginning at 10 a.m. The festival will feature theater and dance groups from across Northeast Arkansas as they perform throughout the entire day. ERA Doty Real Estate will host the fourth annual MDA Smokeout Summer Camp Challenge all day on location. Proceeds from the event will go towards sending children with muscular dystrophy to a summer camp designed for children who face physical challenges. Join the Jonesboro Regional Chamber of Commerce for its Back the Pack Rally at The Glass Factory in Downtown Jonesboro from 4-6:30 p.m. The event will include appearances from A-State football coach Blake Anderson and Miss Arkansas State Ellie Stafford.
