The Foundation of Arts will present “12 Angry Men” at The Forum Theatre on April 8, 13 and 14 at 7:30 p.m., and April 9 at 2 p.m. A youth is on trial for murder; the 12 jurors retire to the jury room where 11 vote for conviction, but one juror stands compelled of his innocence. The second annual Crowns and Canines 5K will be held at 9 a.m. and will begin in the Valley View High School Gym parking lot. Check-in and walk-up registration begins at 7:30 a.m. This event will benefit the Northeast Arkansas Humane Society and the service projects of Junior Auxiliary Crown Club of Jonesboro. The Foundation of Arts will hold the Perspectives Art Contest, from April 18 at 10 a.m. to May 2 at 4 p.m. at Stage, Too in Downtown Jonesboro. Visual art will be submitted from all ages in the NEA area. Vote on favorite art pieces by donating canned goods to benefit the Food Bank of Northeast Arkansas. The Downtown Jonesboro Association is partnering with March of Dimes for Alive After Five: Paint the Market Purple for Preemies, 5-8 p.m. on Huntington Avenue in Downtown Jonesboro, between Church Street and Main Street in front of the Municipal Center. Participate in the Superhero Sprint to raise awareness for premature birth, and learn from the experts at the Police Department on the correct way to install a car seat. The market offers artisan products, locally handmade and produced fares, food trucks, local music and children’s activities, all hosted by the Craighead County Jonesboro Public Library.
