2020 Fall Trends to Watch
by Cody Moore

Though the fall season may look and feel a little different due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, many are still updating their wardrobes with the latest seasonal trends. Whether one is dressing up for an at-home Zoom meeting, making a run to the grocery store or traveling for a socially-distant vacation, the following trends are sure to keep fashion wardrobes up-to-date no matter the occasion. Make sure to keep an eye out for the following fall trends when shopping Northeast Arkansas’ local boutiques and stores.

Pretty in Punk
When someone hears the word “punk” in reference to fashion, many different, bold styles might come to mind. This season, the term punk refers to heavy plaid and checked patterns. These patterns are most popular in cropped pants, tops, dresses and pleated skirts. Jewel tones and nudes are very popular this season and can easily be found in the plaid and checked patterns. Adding a chunky boot, leather jacket or metallic accent like pant chains or necklaces to a punk-inspired fit will only elevate the look.

Geometric Prints
This funky, yet easily attainable trend has nothing to do with math and everything to do with taking fashion to the next level. Though bold prints have been seen more and more in recent seasons, the geometric print is here to make a huge impact this fall. The abstract lines and shapes included in this print can be found on anything from blazers, pants, tops, bags and even cozy sweaters. To achieve a full-on geometric moment, try finding a fitted suit in a matching print.

Step into Prep
Last fall, western-inspired looks were everywhere. This fall, be on the lookout for more prep-inspired outfits taking over the streets and social media feeds. This trend includes blazers, tapered pants, skirts, tweed coats, eccentric headbands, puffy short sleeves, loafers and flats. To put it into perspective, if someone looks like they’re walking straight out of a ‘90s movie, the trend is being done right. Try pairing a solid-colored tank with an oversized blazer, tapered pants, a small handbag and slip-on loafers to achieve this Instagram-worthy trend.
