2019 Fall Fashion Trends
by Cody Moore, illustration by Brittney Guest

Although the heat of summer has lingered into autumn, it is officially fall in Northeast Arkansas and local stores are stocked with the latest fall fashion trends. Whether it be a pair of denim jeans with a frayed hem, a wild animal print or a statement sneaker, this season’s trends are sure to turn heads this fall.

Trendy Trims
Who doesn’t love a good pair of denim jeans? This season, it’s all about the trim as unique denim hemlines make their own statement in 2019. Some of the most popular trim trends include the uneven denim hem, the raw hem, the vent hem, the double hem, the frayed look, the flare hem, and of course, the sleek straight leg. The cropped, frayed look at the hem will be a popular style to pair with sleek boots, as well as the typical straight-legged denim. Wide flair jeans and pleated high-rise jeans are also making a return this season.

Welcome to the Jungle
From snakeskin to cheetah, it’s certain that both of these prints will be seen everywhere this fall. Whether it’s printed on a shoe, top or pants, the snakeskin print is available in multiple colors, including black, gray, taupe or mango. As for the cheetah prints, the most popular colors for fall are the tan and black designs. Try combining these prints together in a top and a shoe to achieve a wild, exotic look.

The Bolder the Sneaker, the Better
High-end brands such as Gucci and Balenciaga brought back the bulky dad shoe a few seasons ago, and local boutiques and retail stores have hopped on the trend bandwagon. The sneakers are available in all types of colors, from neon to monotone, or even a mix of the two. Local boutiques have even begun to offer the statement shoes in metallic tones, which is trending, as well. Try pairing the sneakers with a simple jean or biker short to achieve total Instagram readiness.
