Story and Photos By Jodi Hutchison
June is a month infused with celebrations and special occasions that often require purchasing gifts. Father’s Day is June 15 and most everyone also has graduates or newlyweds for whom they will purchase a gift during the next few weeks. This month’s featured retailers offer some convenient solutions that take the hassle out of stressful summertime shopping.
HIGHLAND SHOPPING CENTER
Paper Moon, 2810 E. Highland, Suite X, (870) 972-1168. Scrapbook Station recently underwent some major changes, including changing the name to Paper Moon and the incorporation of a number of new products and services.
“We’ve been open for eight years now, and we have gone from being just a scrapbook store to becoming more of a gift store,” said owner Lisa Campbell.
Paper Moon is a great place to go for all of the important dates on your June calendar. They carry gifts such as shaving kits for dads, diaper bags for the moms-to-be and colorful beach towels for graduates.
All these items can be embellished in-store with rich embroidered lettering. There is also a large selection of personalized note cards and invitations — a perfect way to set the tone for a summer party or add an individual touch to thank you notes.
Scrapbookers can still find all of the most popular scrapbooking supplies and reserve time to assemble projects at the store’s work area. For those who are busy or less creatively inclined, Campbell will take customers’ photos, for a fee, and create a stunning memory book that will be cherished for years to come. Mon.-Sat. 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
EAST NETTLETON AVENUE
The Storehouse, 1825 E. Nettleton Ave., (870) 972-6360. After 30 years of serving as Jonesboro’s go-to Christian book and supply source, The Storehouse is closing its Christian merchandise section in order to expand its office supply inventory. Christian goods can still be ordered, but they will no longer be stocked in the store.
Owner Tronnia Johnson said that it is a very sad time for her because she began the bookstore 32 years ago on her kitchen table, but she is looking forward to offering the only locally-owned and operated office supply source in town.
“Our customer service is what sets us apart. When you come into our store, you are never just a number to us,” Johnson said.
The Storehouse offers both an online and printed catalogs with more than 50,000 office supply items that can be ordered and delivered within 24 hours. Daily delivery service is available throughout Jonesboro. New store hours are Mon.-Fri. 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Order online at www.storehouseonline.net.
