Live at The Forum

Last month, Ritter Communications and The Foundation of Arts introduced NEA ONSTAGE: Live at the Forum, a virtual concert experience that allows members of the community to enjoy local talent from the comfort of their own homes.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, many area musicians who were used to entertaining at local venues suddenly lost all of their gigs and live audiences. Because of this, both Ritter Communications and The Foundation of Arts, a local arts and theatre organization, had the idea to record and broadcast an array of concerts from The Forum Theatre’s stage in Downtown Jonesboro.

So far, six local performers have been recorded, with more talent expected to join the lineup very soon. All performances will air on Tubetown, Ritter Communications’ local content channel, on Tubetown’s YouTube channel and on the Facebook pages of Ritter Communications and The Foundation of Arts at 8 p.m.

During the month of May, the following performances are scheduled: The Mathis Family, May 2; Los Continentals, May 5; Tony Spinner, May 9; and Marybeth Byrd, May 12.

Past performances, which are still available for viewing on Facebook and YouTube, include NBC’s “The Voice” Season 17 contestant Cory Jackson, as well as Vikki McGee and Sonny Campbell.

More performances are scheduled to be recorded. The updated lineup will be posted to Ritter Communications’ Facebook page. Each performer will have a virtual tip jar, with a portion of the proceeds going to benefit The Foundation of Arts and its programming.
