Friday, May 4
The St. Jude S’travaganza planning committee will host a Cinco De Mayo Party to benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at 6:30 p.m. The event will be held at the home of Chuck and Tina Mitchell, 3807 Sawgrass Drive in Jonesboro, and will feature an all-you-can-eat Mexican-themed dinner, a Mariachi Band and more. Saturday, May 5
Jonesboro Radio Group will host the World’s Largest Yard Sale from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Craighead Forest Park. Admission for the yard sale is $3 and free to children 12 and under. To register for a booth or for more information, visit ow.ly/uBgK30jpDn2 or call 933-8800.

The annual High on Fishing Derby, hosted by Jonesboro Elks, will be held at Craighead Forest Park from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Guests of all ages will have the opportunity to fish, enjoy food, win prizes and more. The Drug Awareness Trailer will be at the event educating guests on the prevention of drug use. Info: 932-0350.

Day of the Derby, benefitting the Arkansas Children’s Hospital Jonesboro Clinic, will be held at the home of Chris and Kim Fowler from noon to 7 p.m. There will be food provided by Strawberry’s BBQ, along with beverages. The Learning Center will host the third annual TLC 5K beginning at First United Methodist Church in Downtown Jonesboro at 10 a.m. This year’s 5K will benefit the goal of providing TLC with a new outpatient therapy center, new state-of-the-art equipment and continued training for their PT, OT and speech therapists. Saturday, May 12
The Foundation of Arts will host the FOA Spring Showcase starting at 10:30 a.m. with beginning dancers, 1:30 p.m. with theatre students, 3:30 p.m. with an art reception and 4:30 p.m. with the intermediate and advanced dancers. The Food Bank of Northeast Arkansas will host Letter Carriers’ Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive. During the event, participants will leave non-perishables at their mailbox letter carriers to pick up and deliver to the post office. All non-perishables will be donated to the Food Bank of Northeast Arkansas. Info: 932-3663.

Thursday, May 17
The Downtown Jonesboro Association will host Alive After Five: Painting Into Summer from 5-8 p.m. in the parking lot next to Eleanor’s Pizzeria. The annual market offers artisan products, locally handmade and produced fares, local music and children’s activities. Local artists Beau Jones of Beautox Art and Brittney Guest will be present for art activities during the event. Info: Downtown Jonesboro Association, 919-6176.

Skinny J’s, featuring Core Brewery, will host Pints for Paws from 5-8 p.m. Proceeds from the event will go towards helping the animals at the NEA Humane Society. Info: 935-5185.

Saturday, May 19
Hytrol Dan’s Health Club of Jonesboro will host the 2018 Hytrol Industrial Park 5K Run/Walk beginning at 9 a.m. Registration for the race is $25 before May 4 and $30 after May 4. All proceeds will benefit the Jonesboro Church Health Center. Info: 972-8950.

East Arkansas Broadcasters will host the third annual Spring Expo at The Mall at Turtle Creek from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The fun-filled, family friendly event will feature home, kids, family, lawn, garden and more. There will be indoor and outdoor activities available for all to enjoy. Info: 932-8400.

Meet your new best friend at the National Adoption Event at NEA Humane Society, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. During the event, there will be puppies, dogs and cats up for adoption, microchip stations, food, bouncy houses and other fun activities for families to enjoy. Info: 932-5185.

Thursday, May 24
The White Party will be from 7-10 p.m. at the home of Chad and Pam Niell, 4200 Friendly Hope Drive in Jonesboro. This white-themed outdoor gala will feature local culinary delights, signature beverages, live music and more. All proceeds will benefit the My Generation Foundation.
